The Japan Foundation provides various courses depending on the learners’ Japanese language levels and their specific requirements. All the Japanese Language Courses are open for anyone who wishes to learn the Japanese Language and Culture. The Course has a standard curriculum given by appropriately qualified and experienced teachers under the supervision of the Language Education Advisor.
The courses include Regular Courses and Special Programs. The former will be conducted twice a year, and the latter will be conducted a few times a year. Please regularly check the notice board and the leaflets in our office for the most up to date course schedules.
  1. Regular Courses
Beginners’ Courses : Level 1 ~ Level 6
This course is designed to provide beginners with basic level knowledge of the Japanese language and skills to utilize in daily conversations, as well as reading and writing simple text in Japanese. This course will provide a foundation for learners who wish to progress to a more advanced level.
Intermediate Course : Level 7 ~ Level 9
(Prerequisite: Completion of a Japanese Language Beginners Course)
The focus of this course is to revise the basic Japanese language grammar rules and prepare students to acquire Japanese communication skills.
Advanced Course : Level 10
(Prerequisite: Passing Level 2 (or more) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or completion of an Intermediate Japanese Course.)
The aim of this course is to improve the student's Japanese language skills through various tasks and activities such as reading, discussions, debates, and writing reports and essays on various subjects.

Basic Japanese Language Course
This course is designed to provide beginners with basic level knowledge of the Japanese language and skills to utilize in daily conversations, reading and writing simple text in Japanese.
Introductory Japanese Language & Culture Course
The purpose of this course is to offer a glance at the Japanese language and its culture. You can learn several useful expressions through experiencing Japanese culture.
