Reporting the result of the Charity Open Day for JAPAN dated 9th April 2011
Here is a message from Ms. Nevine Zaky Ghaly Salem, a representative of the Executive Committee
We are grateful for the participation, support and cooperation of so many people to the Charity Open Day which took place on April 9th for the Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake.
I was so happy to find many people from different nationalities and backgrounds and the only thing that gathers them is the love for Japan and the desire to help although there was a demonstration early on that day in Tahrir square.
With all your support we managed to collect 20,326 LE + 5US$ at the end of the Open Day. I have handed the money to the head of The Japan Foundation Cairo Office and they will send it to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
I sincerely thank all of the volunteers for making the Open Day such a wonderful day, starting from the preparatory work, preparation of Japanese food and sweets for sale from the early morning of the day. Thanks for all the Egyptians, Japanese and other nationalities who helped to operate the day. Special thanks go to The Japan Foundation Cairo Office, who allowed us to use the place and make this Open Day come to life.
We were honored by the presence of His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador and his wife who not only came but also offered Japanese sweets for the Open Day.
Let us all continue praying that God helps Japan to revive again and be better than before.
Again thanks so much for all who joined the Open Day. I am sending my sincere appreciation for your faithful cooperation.
